How do I make my .eml download as .eml instead of .htm?

I have .eml files on my website linked to letter images. When I click on
"Save Taret As" it downloads as an .htm file instead of the eml file. How
do I stop that? I am using FrontPage2003

You'll have to put it into a zip file. The problem here is browsers know
what to do with certain types of files. A browser will open a .txt file in
the browser window because it knows how to display it. Same goes for an
..eml. You can't tell a browser not to do this. What you can do is give it a
file type it doesn't understand. Zip files can't be displayed by the browser
so they'll always be prompted to open or save and that should get around the
issue.

Hope this helps,

Mark, Thanks for the reply. It turned out to be a mime problem and my server
set a mime type for the .eml file and now all is working well.
