How Do I Import Earthlink Email

G

Guest

I have just switched providers, will be using Outlook Express 6, and was able
to export my email from earthlink. It saved it in a .csv file. I have tried
all the options for importing that Outlook Express gives, but nothing seems
to work. Can anyone tell me how to get these emails from earthlink into my
Outlook Express?

Thank You!!!

Outlook Express can't import from CSV files. What other export options does
Earthlink provide?

But this begs the question: since Earthlink is an ISP and does have POP
server access, why didn't you just create a POP account in Outlook Express
and download your mail directly from Earthlink?

Earthlink does not offer exporting and I have all of my messages downloaded
onto my computer. It is the messages stored on my computer that I would like
to get moved into OE 6

Thanks

So what are you using as your mail agent?

Outlook Express... I just don't have access to my old stored
messages...

That's right, you said that at the outset. Sorry, brain fart.

Does Earthlink offer IMAP access? My searching of their web site seems to
indicate that they do not.

However, you do have web access to your server-stored messages or you can
access them via Earthlink TotalAccess. Using the former, you should be able
to move them from the folders they're currently in to your Earthlink inbox.
You should then be able to use OE to download them. If you set up
TotalAccess, you should be able to use it to move the items from their
existing folders to the inbox and Outlook Express should be able to download
them. TotalAccess and Earthlink Mailbox both have the ability to export in
a CSV format. See the articles at
