how do i get word to open a new session for each file I open?

In my old version of word, every time i opened a word file i would get a new
"session" of word, meaning I could put one on each monitor and cut and paste
between them. Now, when i open two or more documents, they are all in the
same "session" and I must go to "window" menu to see it. But, I can still
only see one at a time, unless i choose that crappy compare side by side.

Any sugguestions on how to make each file open a new session of word?

thanks

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | check the "Windows in
Taskbar" box | OK.
