How do I get rid of Microsoft Works 2000 when installing the new o

I have Microsoft Works 2000 on my computer now and I am trying to install the
new Microsoft Works 2006. When I started installing the Microsoft Works 2006
it said that Microsoft Works 2000 had to be uninstalled and it asked if I
wanted to uninstall it. So I uninstalled it and it gave me an error message
saying "Setup is unable register tasks" I clicked OK and then it said "Fatal
error during installation". Then I went to Add or Remove Programs and tried
uninstalling Microsoft Works 2000 from there and it went crazy. I don't know
what to do. Can anyone help me to get Microsoft Works 2000 off of my computer.

Hi there Marisa:

Unfortunately I don't know what "it went crazy" means. You'll get more
accurate advice from a newsgroup if you ask a more accurate question.

However, I can tell you that the general practice for programs that
don't uninstall properly is to re-install the program, reboot and then
uninstall the program.

Reinstalling the program usually restores any damaged or missing files
that were preventing the program from being uninstalled.
