How do I fix upate messing up my settings?

Windows did an update today, I told it not to reboot yet as I was working on
the system. Went to lunch, came back and the silly thing had rebooted and now
all the fonts, icons, toolbars are small......I can barely read them without
wearing magnifying glasses. Have tried changing the font size in settings,
but that didn't help. Anyone have any ideas how to get these back to normal?

Try setting the Display Resolution to a smaller number pair. And if you
leave "Update" in Automatic install that WILL happen again. Try Download
and Notify instead.

Are you sure it didn't change the monitor resolution? That would account
for everything looking smaller. Look under Control
Panel/Display/Settings/Screen Resolution.

Jim, thanx....I didn't do it, it was fine before I left for lunch, after it
rebooted (it has a mind of its own) it did this...sigh

thanx for the info...have everything back to normal and my eyes are feeling
mucho better. My computer is on notify....I told it to do the update but not
the reboot until I was done with my project.....I guess it was tired of
waiting for me to return from lunch. Thanx again for your speedy response.

First, don't let Windoze update you at all until /you/ are ready
by turning off Autoupdate. I have mine set to "notify but don't
download." Then, set your own RP in case it doesn't. This won't
help you this time, but will in future.

But, to your problem, simply reload your last good RP or last
saved Files and Settings Wizard backup. You do back up your
settings, right?

I didn't see this when I replied. I won't even let
Windoze download, much less install until I'm ready. Bill can be
quite annoying about restarting, so I just don't let get that
far.
