How do I eliminate same double numbering in footers?

One number is within the footer margins and doesn't respond to changes. The
second is even further to the right where I have no ability to reach it at
all. I would like to have just one number in the far right lower corner,
without a duplicate appearing to its left also.
 
View | Header and Footer. Select the unwanted PAGE field and delete it.
