HOW DO I EDIT A PIECE OF PARAGRAPH IN WORD 07

B

brina

In earlier versions I was able to highlight a piece of the paragraph to
either change font, style or sort in alphabetical but my word 07, 1 click
will pick 1 one word, 2 clicks will pick the whole sentence and 3 will pick
the whole document to edited.

Is there any setting or special command to just pick the desired amount
of text in the paragraph or the document so it can be edited?

Left click at the start of the text that you want to select, then move the
mouse cursor to the end of the text that you want to select and then hold
down the Shift key while you left click.

There must be an option somewhere to control that, but I can't find it
-- I still get 2 clicks = word and 3 clicks = paragraph. (Could it
possibly be in the WordPerfect compatibility options??) (Ctrl-click
selects a sentence.)

You can use keyboard shortcuts to select words. Ctrl + Shift + Right
Arrow selects one word to the right. Hold down on Ctrl + Shift and
continue pressing the right arrow to select a few more words. Left
arrow selects one word to the left, up arrow will select from the
cursor to the beginning of the paragraph, down arrow selects from
cursor to end of paragraph. You can also press F8 and use the Extend
Mode shortcuts -- more info on this feature is in Word's Help file.
