Just curious... even with a Floppy Drive, how do you run a full system backup?
A floppy disk only holds 1.44 Megs of space.

My suggestion for a full backup is a second HD and either Drive Image or Ghost.

Start > Help and Support > "File and Settings Transfer";

This will tell you how to transfer the data from your old computer to your
new computer. Even if you had a floppy drive, it would take hundreds of
floppies to back up your data....and a very large amount of time!!!!

Backup to File
Then copy the file to CD, or another drive or a network drive

I don't understand. The title of the article is "Use Backup to Protect
Data with Windows XP Home Edition" but the entire article is for the
Professional edition. There is NO backup in XP home, or at least that
is what I have been told and there is none in mine!

Hi Marvin,XP home does have a backup program the same as
home, the main difference is you have to install it on XP
home?
Install your Home cd and right click and select explore,
Look for a folder called "VALUEADD" amd open it,Then look
for a subfolder called MSFT open, then yet another folder
titled "NTBACKUP" Now double click on "ntbackup.msi" And
it should install itself under system tools.
