If you delete the file locally, then the next time you
publish, FrontPage will delete the corersponding file on
the remote server.

Are you uploading by FTP? If so, add /web to the Publish
destination, as in:

ftp://ftp.mysite.com/web

The easiest way to work with files in Front Page is to
fo to the menu File..open Web and then view your files
directly the server with "menue "view" , "folder list".
You can then drop, drag, delete files onto your pages and
manipulate them as needed.
