How do I delete a partially transmitted email?

Outlook has tried to deliver a message but failed - I try to delete the email
in my Outbox but am unable to do so. If I try to open the file it says
'Outlook has already begun transmitting this message' (Well yes it has, but
it's stopped!). Any ideas on how to delete the file?

Hi Susans_Husband,

you have to change the default PST file.

Please create a new PST file under "File/New/Personal Folder (PST)"

Save this PST on the Desktop, because you can delete it later.

The name of the PST file should be NOT "Personal Folder" (you will be ask 2
times for a name), the name could be only "Folder"

After you created this new "Folder" PST, you can change the default folder
under "Tools/Email-Accounts/Show existing and available Email-Accounts" and
click on "next".

In the left corner you can change the delivery folder in the listbox. Change
the setting from "Personal Folder" to "Folder" (now you know why it is
better not to use the same name twice ;-)

Confirm everything with OK, restart Outlook, confirm also all notifications
with "OK" and now you can delete the email in your "Outbox". After you
delete the email, go again to "Tools/Email-Accounts/Show existing and
available Email-Accounts" and click on "next".

In the left corner you can change the delivery folder in the listbox. Change
the setting back from "Folder" to "Personal Folder".

Confirm everything with OK, restart Outlook, confirm also all notifications
with "OK" and now you can delete the "Folder" PST under
"File/Datafilemanagement/Data files".

Close Outlook and now you can delete the PST file from your Desktop, open
Outlook and normally everything must be OK.

Hope it will also work on your PC. ;-)

Click FIle and check Work Offline. Stop and restart Outlook. Delete the
message. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.

Hi Oliver, Thanks for the suggestion, but no luck! Did I make it clear that
it was a file that I was SENDING and not RECEIVING?? Regards Steve G

Hi,
I tried to create a new folder and to work offline, but both methods didn't
work. I still wasn't able to delete the partial sent email.
P;ease advice,
Tali.
