I can't figure out how to create a rule to move emails which contain
specified words in the "from" field in the message.

Hi Diane:

I just tried this and can't get it to work.

My "rule is" "with xxx in the message header move it to the xxx folder."

The "xxx" i am trying to act on is in the "FROM" field.

When I run this new rule nothing happens.

The only place I can find any "From" matter is in the simple not advanced
window, but I can't figure out how to modify this field. I want to make it
broader and catch anything with say xxx in it.

Thanks Gary

Use either From specified sender or 'header contains' rule.

Hi Diane:

I'm using Outlook 2007 and it doesn't follow the rules cited in the link you
posted.
When one clicks "from people or distribution list," it brings up a window
"rule
address" and there is no place to input a domain name.

From the web page:
"Type the domain portion of the address in the Address field. In Outlook
2003, it's the field at the bottom of the dialog"

While that page was written long before outlook 2007 was released, the
dialog in outlook 2007 is identical to the one in Outlook 2003. Type the
address (or part of it) in the From field at the bottom of the Rule address
window.
