I am using XP and don't have Power Point but I do have Power Point
viewer 97.
My question is when someone sends me a file say with several
pictures in it and I want to save just one of them, how can I break
the file down to save just the one picture?

Any suggestions?

TIA

Without PowerPoint you can't edit the file. How about writing to the person who
sent the file and ask them for a copy of the picture you want? Or, if you don't
care about the quality, you can try running it in the Viewer and taking a screen
shot.

There's not much you will be able to do with the Viewer itself. However,
when you are looking at the picture you want, hit the Print Screen button
on your keyboard. That will copy a snapshot of the screen. Now go to your
favorite picture editing software (such as Adobe Photoshop; you can even
do this in most Word Processors like Microsoft Word) and paste the
picture into a new document. If you use PhotoShop, you can easily crop
the picture and save it in a picture format.

Nomad,
Try OpenOffice if you want to get a free application to edit the PowerPoint
files.
