Inserting sound file

MS Power Point 2007 ( Trial Version )
I want to know if it is for me before I purchase it.
I have a questions and problems : --
1.) I made a slideshow of pictures, and I inserted a music file ( 971 KB of
mp3 ). Everything ran fine.
Except, the music file is NOT embedded, it is " linked ". If I move the
music file to another folder, there will be no sound when I play it.
I have read all the tutorials from website, no one shows me how to embed the
music file.
I can't convert mp3 into .wav because my audio converter will give me a .wav
file 20 times the size of the original mp3.
2.) If I attach the PP in an e-mail, recipients without PP 2007 will not be
able to open the attachment which has a ' .ppsx ' file name extension.
3.) There is an option I can save it in a format compatible to 97-2003 power
points. But, if I do that option, it is not a " finished " product which has
a ' .ppt '. file name extension.
Recipient with PP 2003 can open it, but need to click Slide Show tab, then
View tab before slideshow appears.
In short, I have made a few great Power Point slideshows but no one can
enjoy them..... except me. @!%^$#*!

You can't. Simple.
I can't convert mp3 into .wav because my audio converter will give me a
.wav file 20 times the size of the original mp3.

They must install the campatability pack.

Completely false.

I use CDEX to transform a MP3 (or a heavy Wave) into a RIFF wave (that is a
MP3 but recognized as a wave by PPT). So y'll be able to embed a MP3

Or you can save as an earlier version so they don't have to worry about it.

No matter what, if they don't have PPT 2007, it WILL be converted to an
earlier
version; personally, I'd rather do it for them myself so I can check for
problems with the conversion.
" If you want it to open automatically as a slide show, save as PowerPoint
97-
2003 Show (*.PPS) instead. "
How do I do that ? Save it as .pps ? I don't see that option when I click "
Save As ".

You have to scroll down the file types list a bit. In 2007, you can either
choose "Other Formats" when you choose Save As from the Office Button, or
you can choose any format you like and then look at the Save as type list at
the bottom. As I said, it might require you to scroll down a bit to get to
the PPS type.

Yes, actually I found out afterwards. The instructions are under Convert,
after clicking the Office button. They don't make it obvious, do they ?
Thank you to all.
Now if I could make the music embedded !!!

Let me answer your questions one by one.
1.embed or insert music to powerpoint presentation?
1>When you insert the audio into the PowerPoint and the audio is
just in your computer not in the PowerPoint that is why it said,
"Windows cannot play..." Always put the music audio in the same folder
as your PowerPoint presentation on your computer.
http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/learningcenter/how-to-add-music-song-to-powerpoint-presentations.html
2> If you embed music to your presentation, you need to follow a
couple of steps.
First of all, you should make sure that the music file
is in WAV format (MP3 file can only be linked, not embedded).
By default, the file which is smaller than 100 KB in size would be
embedded. If you WAV file is larger than 100KB, you need to change the
file size limitation first. It can be changed in the Sound Options
group on the contextual menu when you double click the speaker icon on
the slide.

2. view powerpoint 2007 presentation on powerpoint 2003,just check
this article below:
How can I view PowerPoint 2007 files on the computer with PowerPoint
2003?
