How do I automate opening the properties box on save?

I want to get the Properties Box to open on Save As from a template file so
that I can ensure the Property info is correct on save.

This was fairly simple in '03 I recall...

Unfortunately, there's no simple way to do it in Word 2007. The closest you
can get is to have Word display the Document Panel (with limited properties
and access to the rest) the first time you save AND every time you open the
document. I don't consider that a suitable substitute for the previous
behavior, and I doubt you will, either.

Presumably a FileSaveAs macro could be written to intercept the FileSaveAs
command and display the Advanced Properties dialog, but there's no way to do
this through the UI. This is something I devoutly hope will be corrected in
Word 14.
