How can I stop receiving duplicate emails in Outlook 2003?

I keep receiving duplicate emails. For example, within the last hour, I have
received 9 of the same emails (same sender, same subject, same time received,
etc.) Basically, every email I have received during the past week comes
through again everytime Outlook automatically sends/receives my email. Over
the past couple of hours, I have received over 5000 emails, most of which
were duplicates of those sent during the past week. I called my ISP
(Bellsouth) and they said that they would try to help me resolve the problem
and call me back; however, they acted like they had never heard of this
problem. They first said that it must be a Yahoo problem since I use my
Yahoo email address as my primary Outlook email account; however, after they
sent me a test email to my Bellsouth email account, they were able to know
that it is not just my Yahoo mail that is being duplicated. I received 3
duplicate test emails to my bellsouth.net account through Outlook during the
time that I was on the phone with the Bellsouth tech support person. Any
suggestions on how I can fix this problem. It has been going on for several
months now but seems to be getting worse and worse.

I had that problem recently. The solution was to delete all rules. Then
later reestablish rules as the occasion requires. I had one instance of 14
from one message.
