I am currently using Outlook 2003. My emails automatically disappear from my
inbox after approx 1 week. I have checked my other email folders ie deleted
and archive and they do not appear here either.

1. Better check the View you are looking at. Is it Unread Messages or Last
7 Days? Or is it Messages (that will show you all messages in the Inbox
Folder). It's easy to see which view you are in when you turn on the
Advanced Toolbar. View | Toolbars.

2. Check that your Autoarchive isn't set to delete items in the Inbox when
they are 7 days old.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

Thanks for your help

Tried that one. still no joy. I have now got as far as trying to identify
if the "lost" emails are in auto archive, by following the instructions, but
the archive file is empty. is there anywhere else these may be sitting. I
have also tried to search folders for *.pst, - but that only shows me the
archive folder.
