Deleting an old email account caused disappearance of Inbox

I changed web host which meant changing email account data. I created a new
POP Email Account and when working deleted the old POP email account.

The inbox that was associated with the old email account disappeared from
the left toolbar after the old Account was deleted. It was outside the main
Outlook folder. New account emails are arriving in an Inbox inside the
Outlook folder.

Where did the previous Inbox folder go and can I find and restore?
thanks,

Removing a POP3 account will not do this. Was it perhaps an Exchange, IMAP
or HTTP account instead? Then the messages would still be on the server.

Otherwise, look for pst-files on your computer and reconnect them to Outlook
via;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

Thanks, we have located the pst file as you directed but cannot open or link
to Outlook. Error message says file either does not exist or do not have
permission to open. We tried to find folder and file permissions to change
but no luck. At one point did have window asking for password but would not
accept password given. We are 99.9% sure we had the correct password.

We tried accessing the Data File from both Outlook and also through the
Control Panel and Mail. We can see it but not open. A couple of times we
thought we had made the connection but when we went back to Outlook nothing
had been added and the file was not listed as an item in the Data Files list.

Any other suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
