Thank you Bert for the info... I regained 1.5g c drive by adjusting system
restore..
I have an older compaq presario series 5000, it has a 9.2 g cdrive and I
have 5.3
disk space left..Where did all that space go considering I am only running
windows xp home and msn explorer on the computer and a few little programs..
I can't see where 4g is being used in this computer.... How ever my computer
works very well and no trouble.... I just want to be able to store more music
files in the future.
Thanks for all help........

Another thing to check is the size of the browser cache. In Internet
Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, and on the General page under
Temporary Internet Files click on "settings". Look at the amount of disk
space set aside. Often, IE has a tendency to allocate large amounts of
space, sometimes well over a gigabyte, for these files. I usually set it
to perhaps 25 meg.

Also, be sure to clean out temporary file folders. There's a useful little
utility, ccleaner www.ccleaner.com that can aid in this. When you install
it, though, pay attention to the options. You may not want the extra Yahoo
toolbar it can add to your browser.

The amount of disk space Temporary Internet file use can also be limited by
right clicking on the IE icon on the desktop and picking properties. On the
General tab click on setting. Adjust there. For systems with a cable or DSL
connection this setting can be set very low.
