How can I get my print jobs to cancel more quickly?

When I cancel a print job in XP it seems to take at least one or two
minutes before it is cancelled.

How can I get my print jobs to cancel more quickly?

On my printer, it's much quicker to press the "job
cancel" button on the printer than to cancel through
windows. If you cancel through windows, the printer
could have many pages queued up and mine doesn't seem
to "look forward" much in it's buffer. The job cancel
request just seems to get queued so all it does is stop
cleanly at the last page which was previously in the
buffer. The "job cancel" button on the printer actually
acts like an interrupt through.

for me, my printer doesnt have cancel button, but it has a stop button in the
interface that comes up when printing. (Lexmark Status Monitor) see if your
printer has a status monitor and use it to cancel. It will do the same as a
cancel button on a printer, and cancel the prining immediately. (and when you
cancel it there, it will tell windows it is done so it wont try to print
again)
