Print Que delete error

Whenever I have to stop a print job through the printer dialogue box, it
never deletes, even if I have clicked "cancel" or "delete". in the printer
dialogue box beside the name of the print job, it simply says "deleting print
job...". As a result, I can no longer print any new documents unless I
restart my computer.

If I have mulitple print jobs and attempt to cancel or delete them all, all
of them but the last one in the list will be deleted. Then I'm stuck again
with the last one simply stating "deleting print job..." but to no avail.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Check for updated drivers for your printer, switch out you printer cable
that connects to the computer, and wait longer for it to delete.

If your printer is connected through the parrellel port, consider
upgrading your printer to one that connects through USB.

Thanks for the response. I'll check the drivers first and switch to another
cable and see how that goes. As for waiting, I've walked off and left it for
hours only to come back and it is still "deleting print job.."

Same problem here with Server 2003 connected locally to a Brother 1440 laser.
Network print jobs OR local print jobs print only the first job and then
hang trying to delete the job from the queue. It seemed to occur after the
last update from Microsoft around 3/13/05. Could it be a Permissions issue?
Administrators have no better luck.
