How can I edit equation in MS word?

To edit equations in my word file, double clicked the equations.
But MS word is showing 'user does not have access previlages and then I can
do nothing.
What's the problemt with this?
I am a user of XP home edition and MS office 2003.
 
I'd suggest asking this in a newsgroup related to Word.

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.
