How about providing hotmail support for outlook 2000. I know I am not alone
in being forced to use outlook 2000 (work machine), and having subscribed to
hotmail premium (around £50/year) I hoped (as advertised) to access my
hotmail account from outlook 2000. I have asked and been told, no, I can only
use 2003. I have been sent some software my microsoft, the email part of
which, frankly, is slow, badly organised, and hard to navigate, and won't
save the options when i ask it to.

Come on Microsoft - sort it out!

HI,
have you already read
http://www.slipstick.com/config/ol2000hotmail.htm
to get some support for OL2000 and Hotmail?

Outlook 2000 never had HTTP support and never will have HTTP support as it
is no longer in mainstream support. You can use third party tools like
Hotmail Popper to get Hotmail support for Outlook 2000.

You got Outlook 2003 I assume? Could you be more specific on your issues?

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

Hi Roady
I have outlook 2003 on my personal machine, but am forced to use 2000 on my
work laptop as they are not prepared to upgrade yet. I am trying to access my
hotmail from the work machine (i can do so at home fine, but I spend a long
time away from home - sometimes weeks at a time).
The main issue I have is that is was not until I had actually paid my
subscription that it was made known to me that I wouldn't be able to use
outlook 2000. I had asked beforehand of course, and was told that I would be
able to read my hotmail from within outlook 2000 if i paid the subscription.
The only possible answer I have found to this (incorrect?) information is
that I am able to set up a web folder within outlook that will then allow me
to login to my hotmail account.

How easy would it be for microsoft to offer pop3 access to hotmail accounts
for a subscription figure? I for one would pay it, as this would solve all of
the problems I am encountering.
