outlook and hotmail

You cannot anylonger use outlook for the free hotmail account only the payed
for one. This is wrong ! Other email providors like Yahoo alow there email to
be collected from there free accounts. So why not Hotmail which is a
microsoft program as is Hotmail.

Not sure but Yahoo created YahooPlus or what ever it's called for allowing
POP access. There is a third party package that gets around the restriction
in a manner called YPops.

No one is required to do anything for your convenience, especially regarding
a *free* service. They could even yank the service so it was gone and do so
without your permission or even notify you. It's free. It's not your
property.

Amazing how cheapskates think they have rights to services or resources that
are volunteered.

Some Yahoo domains still provide access to POP3 and SMTP servers for their
free accounts. I believe Yahoo UK is like that. Some don't. Yahoo US does
*not* permit free access to their POP3/SMTP mail servers. It depends on
WHICH Yahoo domain you use. But they can, at their discretion and without
notice, change any behavior they want regarding those free accounts so, for
example, POP3 and SMTP access are discontinued and you are forced to use
their webmail interface. It is a free account so you never paid to have
contracted their services.

You don't get any rights when someone provides you with free services.
Microsoft, and even Yahoo, could decide at anytime to cease the availablity
of free accounts. They aren't your parents doling out freebies to shut up
their kids. They are a business and if and whenever the provision of free
services is no longer viable to them (to generate premium accounts or from
ad revenue) then, POOF, those free services will disappear - and you won't
have any rights in those decisions.

So why not Hotmail which is a
microsoft program as is Hotmail.

I suppose if your parents gave you a car as a gift that you figure you could
go making demands on them regarding their gift, like they pay for the
insurance and that they chauffeur you around. It's a gift. You get
whatever the giftgiver wants to give you. If they don't want to give you
their gift then you can't make them. If donors had to kowtow to the donees,
obviously no one would bother donating. Grow up! When someone gives you
something for free, you either take it as is or you don't. So don't and see
if someone else passing out freebies has what you want.

Agreed Vanguard post os it's free to begin with and that Yahoo / Hotmail does
not need to provide free Pop.
However, when browsing for freeware (such as an email address) see which
ones provide you with what you are looking for...most freeware will not have
all the "features" you want...sometimes you can get lucky.
If you want free email, a large size, and be able to use Pop...get a gmail
account.

Google is a free service and made £63,000,000 supplying a free service.
Yahoo in the uk made simmilar and most of there services are free.

As for perants giving me a car ect will no thay did'nt infact thay are
nolonger alive. I work and pay taxes like every one elce. And I do pay for a
lot of things Spybot i dontnate to just to give an exsample.

if its high horses you should look at your own. Big companys make VERY big
profits so why shouldnt we have better freebys from them and prehaps thay
could make some donations to the little companys too while thay re at it!.

Actualy in the Uk thay do, and the NHS is free to use by anyone. ( I work
in a hospital) and if you are poor in the Uk Attornys are free. and we are
only the 4th weatlhyest nation ( America 1st)
