Hi , this is a desperate cry for help as I am at my witts end with my
Hotmail account. About three weeks ago , my account ceased to
function. I could log in via MSM but from there on in things became
difficult. I could only read my mail if I right clicked on it and
opened it in another window. Any other action , ie delete or compose
etc ... result in a slow response ending in a page cannot be
displayed. The help function would not load at all. The after about 5
days mail returned to normal. Now since Sept 27th the problems have
returned. Any ideas???
Is this a problem Microsoft side? Is it somthing to do with XP
updates?? Any help would be really appreciated.

I have XP home and am running IE v 6

Are you using Outlook Express or the Hotmail webpage to view
the mail?

The problem is most likely due to Hotmail server problems
brought on by the rash of viruses.

probably your internet connection was slow
for example if you were downloading a big file
maybe your bandwidth was eaten up when you tried to
do actions in your hotmail account
so the requests (commands) you sent to the hotmail site
probably timed out.
another possibility is the hotmail server was
too much connected to by other users
and was unable to serve you due to temporary overload.
i had a similar problem once and later it resolved itself alone.
note: make sure you are not blocking cookies related to
hotmail, msn, passport etc.
hope i helped a bit.
