Hotmail Message Links Inactive

Any body any idea why my Hotmail messages' hyperlinks to urls or email
addresses have ceased to work? I use Internet Explorer, XP with the new
service pack downloaded and have Norton Internet Secuirty Pro. But the
problem seems very recent...maybe, just maybe since I installed the service
pack but I am really not sure. Another couple of email providers
(photographymail.com and blueyonder.co.uk) work fine for links in the email
messages: so why should Hotmail be different? Any ideas would be gratefully
acknowledged.
 
Another clue I noticed is that when I mouse0ver the inactive links a Java
address(?) appears at the bottom of the screen? Other email providers links
seem to be always urls and work fine....I have installed Yahoo recently
too...dont know if there is a connection there.
