Hotfixes installing EXTREMELY slow.

Nothing else is running when installing hotfixes. CPU is less than 5%.
Takes hours for the Install Progress bar to move to the end. Then the
Installer locks up and cannot be aborted. SP1a is installed and a few
hotfixes but now no other hotfixes will install. Everything else is working
fine except Microsoft Windows Installer. Event Viewer says Installer
received a stop signal.

Ok, I narrowed it down to one Hotfix. 817787 Security WIndows Update Media
Player for XP. When Installer is trying to install that one, it basically
freezes.

I installed Windows Media Player version 9 and the problem went away.
