I see that kb article number 831938 "My Computer and Windows Explorer
unexpectedly quit when you try to open My Network Places or Shared Documents
in Windows XP" has a hotfix available but where is the hotfix located?
I have read the article and looked on the ms site at great length but did
not find the hotfix... I posted this same topic yesterday and someone
suggested to read the article ...well, I did that and did not find the hot
fix...

Carey,
I think the OP is either "incapable of comprehending" or "refuses to
comprehend" what is read - most likely the latter.

Marc and other interested parties,
I find it unacceptable that a telephone call is required that could cost
upwards of $50 to fix a problem that Microsoft admittedly exists.... AND....
a hot fix is (supposedly) in existence for. What's up with that?
I guess I just fail to comprehend why the hot fix couldn't be linked in the
kb article
Above all else I would like to thank everyone (even the flamers) who have
responded to this

I have had to call for hotfixes in the past and there was never any charge.
If asked to give credit card info by the automated portions of the call,
I've done so and then reminded the service rep that there should be no
charge for hotfix calls. In every case, that had already been taken care of
by the rep but I like to double check while I still have them on the phone.
