hooking up a paralel port

just got my son s comp with windows xp on it
we have a parrelel port which we had hooked up a card reader , the web cam
and the printer before on our other comp
this comp seems to have to usb ports which the printer works fine on
when i try to hook up the parrelel thing to the other port the comp just
shuts down
???? not sure what to do

You'll need to purchase a PCI to Parallel Port Controller Card
and install it.
