home recovery cd

I need help, my son's system crashed and the tech installed the professional version of XP I have the home recovery cd that came with the system can I still load this?..also his system keeps freezing up constantly, and advice?...we're getting desperate...thanks

Home recovery would be from a mfg.,not a microsoft cd,the recovery ca
be used but it would be home xp,you'll need to reformat,install recovery cd
select,format and recovery.This puts the computer back to factory specs.
