Home page Unlinked

I have searched the archives and found several similar problems, but
not the same.

I added two new pages to a perfectly fine website. In doing so,
somehow the home page link has disappeared from all pages. When I pull
the website up I start on home page and can travel back, but there is
no "home" link square in the navigation on any page. Reports say I
have 9 pages unlinked from home page.

The navigation window shows home page (with little house) and home
page with strange icon (blank if clicked) - all pages are grid linked
to the one with strange icon and the little house square is just
floating above. I changed and linked all pages to the little house
(leaving the other grid of links) and it did nothing to help.

I'm thinking it's just a small step I've missed along the way and I
have no idea how I unlinked home to begin with.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
