Home Page Hijacked by MSN.COM

Lee

After installing SP2 on my XP box, it appears that
MSN.com has hijacked my home page setting. Working thru
the CONTROL PANEL and/or the WINDOWS SECURITY module,
then INTERNET OPTIONS (Since SP2, I can no longer access
INTERNET OPTIONS thru IE6 !!!), I find that the ability
to change my home page has been disabled, i.e., its
grayed out.

Please help! Many thanks!

STOP PRESS !!! Problem solved.

After reading various threads, seems "home Page
hijacking", for many of us, a result of ad/mal-ware. I
just ran Ad-Aware ... it caught the "hijacker" (in the
registry) and everything working fine now.

Glad to know that you were able to get your hijacker cleaned and your system
back up and running. Good job!! :))

Thank you very much for posting back and letting us know what worked for
you, and for the benefit of others who may have a similar problem. :)
