MSN.com hijacked homepage?

Replaced hard drive, reinstalled XP Home SP1 from original CD. When I opened
Internet Explorer it came up with MSN.com on the home page. Nothing I do (IE
tools > options) will allow me to change it to anythiing else - it simply
reverts back to MSN.com. It won't even allow me to use a blank page - only
MSN.com with a very long URL. Any ideas on how to fix this? Has MS stooped
so low as to hijack home pages?

Thanks for any help,
Cooter

First get updated to Service Pack 2, then install all the security updates.
Then make sure all your protection against all forms of malware are
up-to-date and enabled.
THEN sweat the small stuff.

However, why did you not just transfer the complete contents of the old
drive to the new drive using the software provided with the new drive, or
for pay transfer software, or for free transfer software?
