Home network issues using Me and XP Pro

I have a home network setup that I thought was running fine. I can see
and reach the Me machine from my XP machine but I cannot reach the XP
machine or use the printer attached to it from the computer running Me.
I click on Network Neighborhood and it shows me nothing. Now this did
work at one time. I am connected via a wireless Linksys USB connection.
I can get to the internet. I have my file and print sharing on. What
could be causing this? I hope this is an easy fix. Thanks

Mark,
To my knowledge ME and XP have always had problems sharing data and
regognizing each other. I went through this problem for weeks before i
decided just to reformat my ME machine and put XP on it. I think that
would be your best bet, especially if you plan for this network to be
in place for a while.

I've got a XP/ME home network and it works just fine. I had some big issues
early on because I was trying to use different protocols on the two
machines. I was using (or attempting to use) TCP/IP on the XP machine and
NetBEUI on the ME machine. Mixing protocols led to some big issues. After I
began using just TCP/IP on both machines, the network started humming. Now
the OP had a problem with a wireless network that apparently worked properly
at one time. There are many troubleshooting paths he could take. Upgrading
to XP is not a likely cure.

Any computer that can access the Internet, can access any other computer on
the Internet.

Think about it.

All the Internet is, is a bunch of Networked Computers. Apples, Windows,
Unix, Linux, all versions, all file formats, all talking to one another.

If you can't get ME to talk to XP, it's not the fault of the computer...

ok, I agree. So what else can it be if it worked at one time? What can I
check or look for?

Do you have the Firewall active on XP? If you have recently installed
Service Pack 2 this will have switched itself on. This will kill any file
or printer sharing - if your router has a firewall, switch off the Windows
one on the LAN port.
