I am trying to set a Home network, through a Hub, for
Internet Connection Service (ICS)
I ave an ADSL modem.
My desktop has XP Pro, I run the wizard. So far - OK.
My laptop has WIN 2000. At this stage, the Wizard tell me
to make a configuration disk for the other computers, but
it also warns me that this setup disk won't run on WIN
2000.
I tried it - it does not...
What should I do?
Miki

Ok you have to do it manually.
1. Right click on My Network Places-Properties
2. In the window R click on the LAN connection-select
properties again
3. In the network properties-select Internet TCP/IP and
click the properties button.
4. Select the buttons that allow addresses to be obtained
automatically. Click Ok to close all windows.
This should get you on the internet but you may have to
change the workgroup on the 2000 pc if you want to share
files. Cheers.
