Unistalling The Network Setup wizard

C

Summary: how to uninstall the ICS Client files installed
by Win XP's Network Setup Wizard on a Win 98 client
computer in a home network?

Scenario: Win XP computer and Win 98 computer, Internet
Connection Sharing (ICS) enabled on XP computer with modem.

I ran the Network Setup Wizard supplied on the Win XP CD
on the Win 98 computer to set it up to be able to use
Internet over the shared connection of the XP computer.
[Note: I know this is not strictly necessary, because the
settings on the Win 98 computer could be configured
manually, but I wanted the ability to remotely dial the
modem]

The Network Setup Wizard performs a bunch of configuration
(including TCP/IP settings) and installs a bunch of files,
such as ICS Client files, Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)
support files etc. It also places a status icon on the
System Tray which can be used to monitor the shared
connection remotely, plus installs a shortcut called
Internet Gateway under Start Menu/Programs/Accesories/
Communication.

Question:
Does anyone know how to uninstall the features that
Network Setup Wizard installed, including the Internet
Gateway shortcut, the icon on the system tray, the ICS
Client DLL files and especially the UPnP support files?
There doesn't seem to be any uninstall option anywhere
that I can think of (eg. Control Panel/
Add/Remove Programs etc.)

To un-install UPnP, go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs |
Windows Setup | Communications. That will also:

1. Remove the icon in the system tray.

2. Remove these items from Start | Run | Msconfig | Startup: ICSDCLT
and SSDPSRV.

After rebooting, you can delete these files from C:\Windows\System:
Hnetwiz.dll, Icsdclt.dll, Ncxp16.dll, Ncxp32.dll, Ncxpnt.dll,
Ssdpapi.dll, Ssdpsrv.exe, Upnp.dll.

My Original problem is that I was hosting a website on my win98 pc. In
addition, after I ran The Windows Networking Wizard, my web server
stopped working and also my FTP severs, it was like if it was being
blocked.
Thank you for your help, I will try it and see if it works. Ill post a
follow-up if it does.
