hit counter

I'm having a problem with a hit counter. I have three sites, but the hit
counter on one of my sites does not appear to be working. I've reset the
counter, changed the type of counter, number of digits, etc., yet nothing
seems to be working. Any idea how to kick start the counter?

Open the live site, remove the counter, run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks, then add the counter
back.

If it still doesn't work, you need to contact your host to check the permissions on the _private
folder to allow writing.
