I put a hit counter on frontpage but it doesn't work on the website it comes
up--"-->l>om i-image="4" i-resetvalue="0" PREVIEW="<strong>[Hit
Counter]</strong>" i-digits="0" startspan -->Hit Counter

p>" and "IEW="<strong>[Hit Counter]</strong>" i-digits="0" startspan -->Hit
Counter"

i can't find anything to do with hit counters in the html but it always
appears as that text and its annoying cause it's ruining the site.

In Design view, drag the mouse across it to highlight it, Right click and select Delete.
Save the page.

i already did that but it still comes up, i deleted it but it still says the
stuff thats there. When i go inot frontpage it doesnt show that text anywhere
or anything that says anything about a hit counter, but when i publish and
view it on the web its there.

In Design view, drag the mouse across it to highlight it, Right click and select Delete.
Save the page.

Can you post a URL??

Also, try opening your live site in FrontPage, and see if you have two index files.
One named index.htm and one named index.html
If so, go back to your local site and rename index.htm to index.html and let
FrontPage update links when prompted.
T
hen republish, and then reopen the remote site and delete index.htm.
