Hide a counter

How do hide a counter in FP 2002 if at all possible?
Below is what shows for the counter when I open the page Live from FP and go
to HTML:

<!--webbot bot="HitCounter" u-custom i-image="4" i-resetvalue="1"
PREVIEW="&lt;strong&gt;[Hit Counter]&lt;/strong&gt;" i-digits="0"
startspan --><img
src="_vti_bin/fpcount.exe/~maineventleague/?Page=index.htm|Image=4" alt="Hit
Counter"><!--webbot bot="HitCounter" i-checksum="6889" endspan --></h4>

What do I insert and where?

Thanks,
Ed.

You need to make a 1 pixel by 1 pixel gif image.
Name it custom.gif and save it to your images folder.
Then in the hit counter panel, set the image to custom and select your
custom.gif as the image and set the path to: images/custom.gif

With the page open in edit mode, click the HitCounter
when the little "bot" icon shows. In the hit counter panel
select custom from the images list where you also
select style 1 2 3 or 4. Select custom and in the space,
enter images/custom.gif and then click ok
save the page and then publish.

OK, I just tried what Steve said. I must be doing something wrong. I
publish the page then I go look at it and I now instead of the counter, I
see Hit Counter in brackets where the counter was.

I open it live in FP and the file in the private folder and see that it is
counting. How do I make the place holder for the counter disappear on the
page?

Also what do you mean set the path to: images/custom.gif? Do you mean go
into html view and take out the 4 and replace it with custom.gif? The 4 I
am talking about is the one that I copied below that is between quotes. I
did do that. Just want to be sure that part is correct.
<!--webbot bot="HitCounter" u-custom i-image="4" <<< I replaced the 4 with
custom.gif.

Thanks again,
Ed.
