Any idea on why my Hit Counter (bottom of page) is stuck on 00001?

Why don't you just use the stats from your server logs instead of cluttering
up the page with a counter?

Hmmmm..
I am running Windows XP with IIS installed. I use Frontpage 2003 to create the webpage using D:\My_WEbs as data sttorage. I then publish the web to my H: drive where I serve from.

As directed I went to C:\Inertpub\wwwroot\_private where I am suposed to right click the Default.htm.cnt file. There is no default.htm.cnt file. In fact, the _private folder is empty.

Am I doing something wrong here--or is the file in question located in Windows XP elsewhere?

Thanks....

You need to publish and access your web via http://localhost on you local
machine.

You would need to contact your host about that.

I am not sure what you mean here. I create the webpage, using Frontpage2003, in my D: drive-- then "publish" it to my H: drive where the webserver sits. The web pages, all links, etc. work fine. It's just the hit counter that is stuck at 1

1. Are you hosting http://www.gradygroup.com/ on your local machine for
access by the world?

2. If not then on your local machine, since you have IIS installed, you
should do all development directly under http://localhost, and it doesn't
matter where the files are physically located on your local HD.

3. Then to test any of the functions that required the extensions or a web
server,. you must access the pages via http://localhost/pagename.htm etc.

Have you contacted your host to check the permissions on the _private
folder?
