Hijacked Browser

My browser was hijacked I got Pest patrol some good adware remover to remove it. But ever since then IE6 no longer asks me if i want to download the software. U know on sites the software which it says like does not have a certificate. Whichever site I go to my browser installs the software without permission wat can i do? For normal downloading its ok but for the software which it usually asks permission all the sites seem to be "alway accept software from "company n"".

Hi Nii - You need to check this and/or set it for those not checked for each
file type that you download:

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to the file type in question, e.g. for .zip
Find the .zip association (may be WinZip File, for this example)
Click on Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version, and check the
"Confirm open after download" box.
