Hignlighting large block

My difficulty is when I try to highlight a large blcok (>
a a few pages) of text, its difficult/impossible to
control the speed of scrowl such that I'm zipping past
the point I wish to CUT. WHen I pull curser down to
return, I again zip past the desired point. Is there no
MARK and CUT that does not require highlighting?

Put cursor where you want to start and click, use the elevator slide on the
side to move where you finish and click again.

I believe this problem is corrected in Word2002 and higher. If you are
adventuresome (at your own risk) you can make some adjustments to the
registry in earlier versions. See:
