high CPU Usage but not all the time

hi,

I am very much in the dark when it comes to actually understanding the
piece of technology that sits in my lap, so please keep any comments or
explanations simple for this technical baboon.
I am experiencing a very frustrating problem with my laptop. When i try to
download a song to iTunes, or watch a clip I have downloaded from the net, my
computer slows down to pretty much snail pace. When i check with the Task
Manager, it shows my CPU usage is maxing out at 100% or just below. I am not
exactly sure what this means, but i know enough to know it slows everything
down.
So does anyone else have a similar problem? whenever I close all windows
and check my CPU usage again, i see it's dropped down significantly. I have
done everything i know from virus scans to deraging and dsk checks, but keep
getting the same problem........oh, I'm running the Windows XP professional.

Please help!!!!!

Sorry, but this newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database
product that's part of Office Professional.

You'd be best off reposting your question to a newsgroup related to Windows
XP.
