Hiding read messages??

I ran into a problem last week where my read messages were disappearing, I
found the problem was some how "View/Current View/Hide Read Messages was
activated. I changed it and all was fine until just now, I just read my
messages and was ready to sign off when my read messages were gone, again
the Hide Read Messages was activated and seeing I'm the only one who used
our home computer today I know I didn't change the setting, how can this
setting be getting changed??

This might help :
( menu bar ) View > Show or Hide >Customize selected view > under " select
the conditions...", highlight & click 'For all messages ". Under " View
Description ", choose Show the message > OK

My apology. I forgot I was on Windows Mail, not WLM. In so doing ,I used the
wrong terminology.
1.) Show or Hide Should be Current View.
2.) Customize selected view should be Customize current view.
The rest should be the same.

Seeing this problem regularly in this newsgroup.

Let me hazard a guess as to the cause, one of Norton, McAfee or Trend Micro
AV applications installed, and set to scan mail?
