Hidden files are hidden

SayWhat

I have a computer that I installed a second hard drive on that was in another
of my computers.
I have XP pro sp3 I run Internet Explorer 6 (I tried 7 and 8 but had problems
with them so reverted back to 6)
My main hard disk is C and my second hard disk is D
When I installed the 2nd hard disk everything is wonderful, except then I
tried to remove all the Operating stuff which was also XP pro sp3.
I was able to remove all but a couple of Folders. ajalae and systemaid 32.
Inside the ajalae is two other folders, amd64 and 386.
Inside the systemaid32 is a folder Macromed inside it is a folder Flash inside
the Flash folder are two files Flash10c.ocx and Flashutil10c.exe .
These folders I cannot remove from the D hard disk.

This problem I can live with, no problem. However while running my anti virus
program Avast I saw that it was checking many, many files that I did not know
that I had on the D disk.
So my question is this, How do I reveal or open the hidden files that are on this
D disk, so that I can remove them? Because they are evidently taking up space
that I would rather use for other things.
I appreciate all of your help and efforts.

Could you format D?

Yes, but how do I do that?
I could easily put everything from D over onto the C hard drive. Then
move it back after the format.
But how do I format the D hard drive?

Once you have moved everything you need from the D: drive, rt click on the D: Icon in MyComputer and select format.

Thanks Rich; I don't know why I have never seen the Format before. Guess
I'm
getting old. 73 isn't old yet, that's middle age I think.
The Format cleaned out my D hard disk and now I have all the files and
Folders
that I wanted there back into it.
Now I need to go to the Outlook Express 6 newsgroup and see if anyone can
help me with a 30sec. delay on sending emails. Receiving emails is quick,
send
is slow.

I am only a few years behind you. When in Outlook Express go to
Tools>Options>Send Tab. Check Send Immediately box if not.
If it's already checked you may have to go to your Firewall/AntiVirus
security settings and check if the delay is there.

Thanks Rich, but yes I have already checked the box for sending immed.
and I also have checked my AV to make sure that it was not scanning my
email, in or out. However, I am willing to try things again, just to make
sure I have not missed something.

I'm 79 and I don't worry about e-mails taking 30 seconds to be sent.
That happens occasionally with me. There are more important things to
worry about in life...

Yah at 79 I am sure you have things more important than slow send.
Everything gets slow at that age.
