This is what I am trying to use now. But when I type in "powercfg-H ON" it
returns with the message that "Windows cannot find "pwercfgh".

I typed "powercfg-H ON"

there is a space between the powercfg and the hyphen that you seem to be not
including

just copy it from the web page and paste it as it is :)

you are not entering the SPACE after the word powercfg

computers are stupid you have to tell them EXACTLY the command as it is,
without even the smallest mistake...

if you leave a space out.. it is a mistake

Yes, I am entering the space after "powercfg" and it continues to now read
Windows cannot find power - it omits the cfg, the space, the hypen, etc.

I appreciate your efforts but all my trying and reading and still no
Hibernate. The latest response I get from Command Prompt is that I do not
the permission to enable or disable Hibernate. At least this time it
recognized the command - it just won't let me perform it. Any suggestions?
It doesn't seem to matter if I run the command from Run, WinKey+R, or
Command Prompt. I hope you have the patience to try again. I really need
Hibernate on the machine.

Just tried this - no response from powercfg -h on. Great idea though! When I
click Enter it just drops to another command line. And tried the other way
again and it still says I do not have permission to enable or disable
Hibernate.

Read this page it shows you clearly another way to do the command

are you an administrator user of the pc????????????/

Enable Hibernation in Vista
To enable hibernation, simply click on your Start menu, and type
powercfg.exe /hibernate on in your search box. Then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter,
which will run the command line you typed in as an administrator. If you
have UAC active, it will prompt you to approve the elevation of privileges,
and you'll probably see a quick flash of a command line window appearing and
then disappearing. Your work is done!

I tried and tried. Anything I type into Search just takes me to previous
correspondence about the topic. If I go directly to cmd I get Invalid
Parameters. If I go to Run, I get the same response, even when I run as
Administrator.
