Hibernation

I changed What the Power Buttons Do so that Sleep would mean Hibernation
( feature I always liked on XP), but when I click Sleep the computer does
not Hibernate. Any suggestions? Or - is Hibernation not good to use and I
should just ignore the problem?

What version of Vista are you using? My friend's Home Premium did not seem
to have a hibernate feature.

I very much appreciate the advice; however, I do not know where to run this
command line. Help!

Is the command line the same as the command prompt? If so, I found the
command prompt and typed in the command - now what do I do? Where is there a
Go or whatever to perform the action?

When I type in the search above the Start button, all it does is to take me
to all of my past e-mails! I tried several times but to no avail - and I'm
unable to load your pic (seems to be a LiveSearch issue - I've been having
problems all afternoon).Still unable to connect to image. I tried the
Command Prompt but it won't enter the command.

OK - now I can see the pic. I'm typing the right thing into the right place
but it only takes me to Search.

Found another search reference said to type CMD on search line with
ctrl+enter and the command prompt appeared but again it says powercfgH is
not an internal command. I'm using Vista Home Premium.

When I press enter it takes me to search - the last posts we exchanged on
the subject of hibernation. I have tried about 20 times and it always goes
to the search results, no black screen, and Hibernation does not appear on
the task menu. Is it me or the OS?

Ryka then do this...

press the WINDOWS KEY and R

the windows key is the one with the microsoft icon on your keyboard between
the ALT and CTRL and press R together...

So>>> WIN key and R

then the RUN command will open.. paste the command I told you on the other
post there and press enter

please tell me if this helps

I get the reply "Windows cannot find powercfgh. Make sure it is typed
correctly and try again." Tried this 3 times to be sure it wouldn't work.

I typed "powercfg-H ON" when the message returns it says "Windows cannot
find pwercfgh" It's not accepting the hyphen between powercfg and H.

sometimes newsgroups destroy the exact way things are written in messages

thats why I sent you the screenshot and the webpage

see from there to make sure you are writing it correctly
