Hibernation causes audio loss

Often, when returning from Hibernation, my audio disappears and so far the
only way it will return is with a reboot.

The software volume control is at full volume and is not muted. In DirectX
Diagnostic Tool, the 'DirectX Files' tab displays "No problems found," and
under the 'Music' tab, the 'Test DirectMusic' button will not develop music
when my audio card is highlighted. The SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio,
my audio card, in Device Manager reports, "This device is working properly."
