After hibernation, XP does not restart. It gives the following
options
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu;
Continue with system restart;
I can restart successfully by choosing the first option.
Selecting the second option leads me back to the same problem.
I have seen this problem mentioned in a few places including the
Microsoft website http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;294427.
This only gives detail of how to recover from it but it does not tell
me how to prevent going into this mode in the first place.
I want to continue to use the hibernate facility but I want to be able
to reboot into my saved state not into the options listed above.
How can I discover what is causing the problem? What is corrupting the
memory snapshot?
Thanks,
J
