Hibernate generates BSOD

Bobby

I like to use hibernate rather than shutdown but I've experienced a problem
whenever I try to use hibernate in the last day.

When I try, I get a blue screen of death. Always. Even when I reboot and try
to hibernate from the log-in screen (before logging in so it can't be
anything that I'm loading in my profile).

Can anyone tell me how to cure this? I really like hibernate. Would a
restore to a couple of days ago work?

Cheers.

Hi Bobby,

Hibernate problems are usually caused by uncooperative software or
unsupported drivers. What did you install, update, or modify in the past few
days?

Hi Rick.

No neew hardware but the usual odd little bits of software.

This wouldn't explain why I can't hibernate from the the log-in screen.
Sounds like a hardware conflict.

I'll try restoring my system to an earlier date.

Cheers.

I found the culprit - "Mozy" an online backup program which obviosuly loads
system drivers. Once removed, hibernate was back!

Cheers from Scotland.
