hiberfil.sys - Hibernation in XP

P

Paul

Hi folks, I'm a user in a forum and just helping
someone out.

The guy has disabled/turned off hibernation.

However the file for it (above) is still on his system. He cant delete it as
it says its in use. Any ideas on how to remove it?? He's tried some program
called Spacemonger, which usually removes it, but it didnt.

Any info appreciated.

Thanx

Hi

The hiberfil.sys file should be deleted as soon as Hibernation is turned
off. Was Hibernation used at all prior to it being turned off?
